Yesterday I made a start on one of my bigger secondary projects – a world map mural in the school. I spent the morning washing the wall to be used, and then worked until around 8 in the evening drawing on a reasonably detailed world map (see photos below).
Because I’ve only done a pencil outline so far, you might have to squint a bit to actually see it in the photos
Over the next few weeks I hope to paint the map, the title and the compass, but before I can do that I’ll need to actually buy the paint. I’ll be pricing it up next time I travel to Lethem, and hopefully I will be able to start painting pretty soon!
Feedback so far from students, staff and parents is positive, so with a bit of luck I’ll find myself doing a similar project with a map of Guyana in the next term!
