Probably the Last Post Before I Fly
So it’s the 14th, I leave my home city of Coventry and travel to London in 10 days, and then fly to Guyana the day after that. That means 11 days until I leave to spend a year in Guyana – a whole year, 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days, 8760 hours, 525,600 minutes*, or … Continue reading
Keeping in Touch
I’m leaving for Guyana in 12 days (eep!) so I’m gathering addresses (postal and email) so I can keep in touch with people while I’m gone. UPDATE: Join the mailing list if you want to get emails from me while I’m in Guyana For getting messages to me – check out this page.
Volunteer Project Map
There’s 22 volunteers from Project Trust going to Guyana in 3 weeks time, destined for 11 different projects spread across the country. That in mind, I’ve created this poster to take to Guyana and help explain some aspects of Project Trust to my students… Click for a larger image!

My first Guyana-related Tweets will probably be sent during my epic drive to Scotland this weekend! If anyone wants to follow: @m_s_ormo
Training in a Few Days!
As I sit here listening to Serj Tankian, I’m excited. Why? In a couple of days I start my 5-day training course with Project Trust 😀
My Project Has Been Cancelled!
I found out today from Doug (one of my PT desk reps) that my project – St. Ignatius High School in Lethem – has been cancelled! 🙁 The school have employed graduate teachers, so they don’t need volunteers at the moment.

Fundraising Officially Finished!
As of today, with a very generous donation from Carwood Motor Units in Coventry, I have now “officially” finished my fundraising! 😀 The gauge on the homepage shows that I have cleared the £5,100 target and raised over £5,200! I owe a massive thank you to everyone who has helped me to raise this sum … Continue reading
