3 Weeks into Teaching
I’m writing this sat in the shade of a coconut tree, watching the sun drop behind the mountain range that surrounds most of Sand Creek. No, really. Jelly much?
We’ve Made it to Sand Creek… Finally!
Harry and I have made it to Sand Creek eventually! We flew from Georgetown to Lethem on Friday but didn’t manage the second half of the journey – Lethem to Sand Creek – until Tuesday. Our delay was spent in the Region 9 Guest House doing not much other than exploring Lethem, relaxing in hammocks … Continue reading
First Week in Guyana
Time for a proper update (read: long!) after my first week in the beautiful Caribbean gem that is Guyana…

Keeping in Touch
I’m leaving for Guyana in 12 days (eep!) so I’m gathering addresses (postal and email) so I can keep in touch with people while I’m gone. UPDATE: Join the mailing list if you want to get emails from me while I’m in Guyana For getting messages to me – check out this page.
Training & Flight Dates
Monday 2nd to Friday 6th of this month were spent back on the beautiful Scottish Hebridean Isle of Coll for training in preparation for my gap year. It was only one day longer than selection back in October, but it is an awful lot more intense and demanding.
I’m on the Bandwagon
I’ve jumped on the bandwagon and started Twitter-ing. Doubt I’ll be on there often pre-Guyana, but it might be handy in Guyana when I don’t have time to update this blog. My first Guyana-related Tweets will probably be sent during my epic drive to Scotland this weekend! If anyone wants to follow: @m_s_ormo
