So it’s the 14th, I leave my home city of Coventry and travel to London in 10 days, and then fly to Guyana the day after that. That means 11 days until I leave to spend a year in Guyana – a whole year, 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days, 8760 hours, 525,600 minutes*, or about 31.5 million seconds. It’s all feeling very real, and I’m not feeling at all nervous yet. I’m excited. I applied for Project Trust over a year ago, went on selection about 10 months ago, and now it’s just 11 days until I get on a plane for the adventure of a lifetime. Read more

I’m on the Bandwagon
I’ve jumped on the bandwagon and started Twitter-ing. Doubt I’ll be on there often pre-Guyana, but it might be handy in Guyana when I don’t have time to update this blog. My first Guyana-related Tweets will probably be sent during my epic drive to Scotland this weekend!

Fundraising Officially Finished!
As of today, with a very generous donation from Carwood Motor Units in Coventry, I have now “officially” finished my fundraising! 😀 The gauge on the homepage shows that I have cleared the £5,100 target and raised over £5,200! I owe a massive thank you to everyone who has helped me to raise this sum of money (and 2 months before the deadline!).
In a little over a months I’ll be driving to Scotland again (400 miles!! :o) for a week-long training course with Project Trust, and less than 3 months from now I’ll be flying out to Guyana! Read more
